Aircraft L39

The L39 is one of the first types of second generation jet trainers with turbofan engines developed by Aero Vodochody. This aircraft was part of the Air Force fleets of about 30 countries in the 1970s and 1980s. To this day, it remains the most used jet trainer in the world.
It is a universal aircraft, designed for basic, advanced and combat flight training. In some versions it can also be used as a light combat aircraft.

  • Historically, the most successful military training aircraft in the world (more than 2 500 aircraft manufactured).
  • Jihlavan is a partner for all hydraulic power devices (36 types) of the electromechanical strut, wheels and the brake system of its successor, the L39NG aircraft.
  • The L39NG aircraft has a great opportunity for success again, thanks to excellent marketing and an aggressive pricing policy. The first take-off was planned for the end of 2018.

Project

For the first generation of aircraft, Jihlavan has been a development

partner for all hydraulic power devices within the Technometra group since the end of the 1960s. Today, Jihlavan continues to provide service and spare parts for a resting fleet comprising approx. 700 aircraft.
Jihlavan is engaged in developing the new L39 NG aircraft. 30 types of prototypes for newly developed devices will have been delivered by the end of 2017. Jihlavan is a development partner for aircraft units of wheels, brakes, flight control trim EMA and hydraulic distributors, whose prototypes will have been delivered by the first half of 2018.
Flow supply of all newly developed devices is planned to be realised by the end of 2020.
