REFERENCE PROJECTS

Jihlavan currently delivers components to a number of domestic and international aircraft companies. Historically, it participated in producing aircraft that were developed in Czechoslovakia by companies such as Aero Vodochody and Let Kunovice. A new chapter in the company and its further development has opened by projects for Airbus, one of the two major aircraft manufacturers in the world.

Aircraft Aero L-159 ALCA

The Aero L -159 ALCA (Advanced Light Combat Aircraft) is a Czech single-seater single-engine multipurpose light combat subsonic aircraft. The two-seater options L -1159T1 and L 159B are primarily designed for training and pilot fitness flights, but can also be used as multipurpose light combat aircraft.

Unfortunately, the L159 project adopted an unsuitable marketing strategy and, after an initial order of 72 aircraft for the Czech Air Force, no other business projects followed.

  • Recently, 16 aircraft were sold to the American Draken company, which rents them out for training USAF military pilots.
  • Another undeniable success is the sale of 12 aircraft to the Iraqi Air Force, where they have been used for a variety of purposes, including being deployed to combat the Islamic State.
  • In 2016, final aircraft OEM decided to resume production and offer to supply the L159 together with the L39NG aircraft.

Project

At the end of the 1990s, Jihlavan was selected by Aero Vodochody final aircraft OEM to be a supplier of most of the hydraulic power devices for the light combat L159 ALCA aircraft. The project was commercially supported by an order of 72 aircraft placed by the Czech Ministry of Defence. The Czech Air Force has only been using 20 aircraft for their own needs, and Jihlavan provides them with complete service, including deliveries of spare parts.
In 2014, Aero Vodochody sold 16 of the unutilised Air Force L159 aircraft to the American Draken company. In 2016, they sold 12 unutilised aircraft to the Iraqi Air Force.
